181 Asadisa Jātaka (JTA 1.75) The Skilled Archer Ashin Sarana:
Yamona’s drawing The Bodhisatta was born a prince named Asadisa who was very skilled in archery. When it was time for him to become king he gave up the throne to his younger brother. The ministers told the king that his older brother was planning to overthrow him so the king tried to arrest him. When the prince heard this, he fled to another kingdom and became an archer for that king with a very high salary. The other archers were jealous of the high salary. The king was very impressed with his skill. When seven kings found out that the prince Asadisa was not in Baranasi, they tried to invade the kingdom. The king called for his brother to help scare away the kings. The prince Asadisa did that without killing anyone using his archery skills. Then the prince Asadisa became an ascetic.Kids’ drawing
