510 Ayoghara Jātaka (JTA 202) The Prince of the Iron House Ashin Sarana:
Yamona’s drawing Buddha told this story about the great renunciation. Long ago, there was a woman who was the second wife of a man. The woman was going to give birth to a son. The first wife of the man was jealous so she wished to be able to kill the baby. She was reborn as a yakkhinī and killed the baby. The woman gave birth to a second time. But the yakkhinī killed the baby. The third time they had an iron wall so the yakkhinī couldn’t go in. They didn’t know that the she already died. So they kept the kid locked in the iron house until he turned 16. He was about to become king. He told his dad he wanted to be an ascetic. He explained that people would all die anyway. The king and the people in the castle all became ascetics.Kids’ drawing
