Yamona’s drawing A group of bhikkhus had bad thoughts and wanted to become lay. The Buddha told them the story of the past. Long ago a king saw two mango trees one was stripped bare because people picked it and the other had a lot of ripe mangos. The king thought that the bare tree has no worries of being picked and the ripe tree has worries of getting bare. So he would rather be the bare tree . He meditated using the mango tree as his subject and became a Pacceka Buddha and moved to a cave. This happened to three other kings and they all live in the cave together and a man asked them how they became Pacceka Buddhas and they told him what happened. The man told his wife he wanted to become an ascetic and the wife left him and their children to become an bhikkhu. The man trained his children to become independent and then left them with their relatives to become an ascetic. The two bhikkhus saw each other and the man said that she just left the children while he cared for them. They went their separate ways and the man went to Brahma heaven.Kids’ drawing
