467 Kāma Jātaka (JTA 180) The Physician Ashin Sarana:
Zwezarni Htun’s drawing The Buddha shared a story about a Brahmin while staying at Jetavana. This Brahmin was clearing land for farming in Savatthi. When the Buddha asked about his work, the Brahmin said he was making a field. Wanting to help, the Buddha let him continue, and the Brahmin promised abundant alms. Sadly, his crops were washed away, and the Buddha offered support, leading the Brahmin to attain the first path. The Buddha then recounted a past tale about two brothers in Baranasi. The elder one, initially disinterested in becoming prince, lived with a merchant. Greed led him to challenge the prince, and Sakka, observing, devised a plan. Disguised as a Brahmin, Sakka deceived the king, causing his downfall. A wise physician later cured the king’s illness by advising him to let go of grief. Following this wisdom, the king embraced asceticism and was reborn in the Brahma Heavens.Kids’ drawing
