343 Vānara Jātaka (JTA 135) The Monkey’s Heart Ashin Sarana:
Andre Thu’s drawing Once there was a monkey who lived next to a river. His neighbours were some crocodiles, and one day the female crocodile wanted to eat the monkey’s heart, so her husband, the male crocodile was going to kill the monkey. He called for the monkey and told him of great fruit somewhere else across the river, and he offered him a ride. The money agreed and half_way through the trip, the crocodile was about to dive down and drown the monkey, but the monkey said that he did not have his heart with him. He pointed to a tree bearing a bright-red fruit and told him that this was his heart and escaped the crocodile.Kids’ drawing
