The king of Ujjeni, Canda Pajjota, was once surveying his pleasure garden and asked if there was any soever with as much splendor as him, and one of his queen consorts answered king Udena, so Canda Pajjota decided to capture him. Since Canda knew that king Udena had an elephant charm, and he would go at many lengths to get any elephant he wanted, he created a magnificent mechanical elephant to lure king Udena in. This plan worked which led to king Udena becoming a captive of Ujjeni. Canda then devised a way to get his daughter to learn the charms and teach them to him, however, she and Udena ended up becoming lovers. Then Canda promised her a retinue of 500 women and making her her chief consort if she got him out of the Kingdom of Ujjeni and back to his kingdom, and so she started finding a way for both of them to escape.

There are three treasurers who provide lodging to five hundred ascetics. They find a tree and the story goes on to tell of how the tree came to be. The ascetics go back to the treasures later again and the Teacher preached to them, allowing them to reach Arahatship.

The daughter of the Brahman Māgandiya was another maiden who gained the dignity of the chief consort of the king. She lived in the Kuru country and her mother and uncle both also bore the name Māgandiya. This maiden was very beautiful and her father was unable to find her a husband that he approved of. One day, the Teacher surveyed the world early in the morning and perceived that the Brahman and his wife possessed the dispositions to attain the Fruit of the Third Path. So, he took his own bowl and robe and went to the Brahman, who was tending the sacred fire. The Brahman proposed that the Teacher is suitable for his daughter and that they should marry each other. When the Brahman found the Teacher to hand him the maiden, the Teacher told the Brahman how Māra had pursued him from the Great Retirement under the Goatherd's Banyan tree. The Teacher began to recite a stanza and by the end of it, Brahman and his wife were established in the Fruit of the Third Path. Her mother & father took her & committed her to charge of her uncle who soon retired from the world & attained Arahatship. The uncle wanted his daughter to be the consort of a king. When the king saw her, he feel deeply in love with her and he soon had 3 chief consorts with a retinue of 1500 nautch-girls.
