Yamona’s drawing During the Buddha time , Devadatta said there was no good that Buddha had done to him. When Buddha heard that he told the story of the past life. Long ago a wife of a merchant who was not able to conceive, found a newborn who was the Bodhisatta. She declared that the newborn was her son. The merchant family named the baby Nigrodha. Another merchant had a son named Sakha and the wife of a tailor also had a son named Pottika . The three boys grew up together, went to school together. When they were sleeping under a tree, Pottika overheard if someone ate the fat that rooster, he will become a king , who ate the white meat wii become the commander and who ate the meat close to the bone will become the treasurer. Pottika gave the fat meat to Nigrodha , the white meat to Sakha and he himself ate only the meat close to the bones. When they became the king , the commander in chief and the treasure, Sakha treated his friend very badly. He had no gratitude to his comrade. However his friends forgave him. Devadatta was Sakha, Ananda was Pottika and Buddha was Nigrodha .Kids’ drawing
