There was a treasurer’s son named Soreyya who was a father of two sons. He transformed into a woman after thinking that a certain Elder could become his wife. He was embarrassed because of it and ran away to Takkasilā, becoming the mother of another 2 sons. When his carriage-companion from Soreyya was seen, he asked for him and confessed on what happened. Soreyya decided to beg the Elder’s pardon after his companion suggested it, in which the same Elder pardoned him. Soreyya was turned back to a man but decided to become a monk under the Elder, and when he was first questioned which pair of sons he liked most, he answered to when he became a mother of the two sons. When he attained Arahatship, he changed his mind in which he now has no affections on anyone.

While on a carriage ride, Soreyya saw the golden hued body of the Elder Mahā Kaccāyana and thought to himself; this Elder may become his wife, or that he hopes his wife’s body holds a similar hue to that of the Elder’s. As soon as this thought passed his mind however, he was transformed into a women and in embarrassment, fled from the carriage. She followed a caravan to Takkasilā and was introduced to another treasurer’s son where the two got married and bore two sons. When Soreyya bumps into a companion that she had known before she’d transformed, she informs him of what had happened and he offers to help her gain pardon from the Elder. As soon as she does, she’s transformed back into a man and he decides to become a monk where he attains Arahatship and no longer maintains affections on anyone.
