At this time, a thousand Private Buddhas were spending 4 months of the rainy season in the country and occasionally came down to the vicinity of Benares and sent 8 Private Buddhas to the king. When the king heard the Private Buddhas had arrived, he came out and inquired about their errand. The king did not invite them to a meal and reentered his palace so the Private Buddhas decided to go to another village. A wife of a senior weaver decided to invite them to her village where there were a thousand artisans who can each feed on Private Buddha. The Private Buddhas accepted the invitation and ate. The wife then saluted the Private Buddhas and asked them to stay in their village for 3 months. Finally, she asked the villagers to prepare a set of robes worth a thousand pieces of money. The villagers then were reborn as a troop of deities in the World of 33. When reborn again, they all repeated this action. Having all lived out their allotted term of life, all of them were reborn in the World of the Gods.
