Emily’s drawing Once a bhikkhu was shamed for supporting laypeople and some bhikkhus told the Buddha but instead he supported the bhikkhu and told the story of the past as his reason why. One day a elephant was the born, and when he grew up, he became a leader of about 80,000 elephants and when he wanted to send the food to his blind and old mother he would send 1 of his elephants to bring food to her each time, but instead they would eat the food and his mother never got any. Then he decided to leave his troop because he wanted to take care of his mother. But then the king captured the elephant so he couldn’t take care of his mom and he starved himself till he was reunited with his mother and the king was surprised that the elephant had such respect towards his mother. The Buddha explained that the king was Ānanda and the elephant’s mother was Mahā-Māyā and he was the elephant.Kids’ drawing
