One evening during Ananda's meditation arose a question. Is there a substance whose perfume goes only with the wind or is there a substance whose perfume goes with the wind and against the wind? Ananda decided to ask the Buddha this question, and the Buddha replied by giving examples of people whose perfume goes with the wind, against the wind, and both.
