VII. 3. A Monk stores Food
Belaṭṭhasīsattheravatthu
Yarzar M's summary:
An elder monk found it annoying to go for alms every day, so after his usual rounds, he would eat, then go for a second round for plain boiled rice to store it. When other monks found out they were offended and reported it to the Buddha, who then made it a rule against storing food. However, because the elder stored food before this was implemented the Buddha declared him clear of fault.
