The Case of the Eight Sounds

Once, a man heard four sounds. Long ago, another man heard eight. Both men were told to make a sacrifice. One of the man’s sounds were a crane, a crow, wood worm, cuckoo, deer, monkey, kinnara, and a Pacceka Buddha who will never be born again. The king honoured the Buddha. Once the acetic explained that, the king cancelled the sacrifice.
