328 Ananusociya Jātaka (JTA 129) Why Should I Weep? Ashin Sarana:
May’s drawing Long ago the bodhisatta was born into a brahmin family. His parents wanted him to marry but he said when they are gone he will become an ascetic so there’s no point in marrying. They begged him so much that he finally said if they find the golden image he will marry her so the servants went to go find her and saw a girl that looked like the golden image so they told her parents about the marriage and her parents said yes but she wanted to become an ascetic and not marry but her parents said to do it. When the girl snd Bodhisatta were together they said they both wanted to become an ascetic so they both went in the forest together and practice. She then died and the onlookers asked the Bodhisatta why he didn’t cry and he said that she is lost to him and she’s in a different realm so he doesn’t weep. The Bodhisatta lived alone and continued to practice and meditate.Kids’ drawing
