Zwezarni Htun’s drawing Long ago, the bodhisatta was born into a Brahmin family, and after he finished his education, he left to become an ascetic. When the rainy season came he left his hermitage to get some salt and vinegar and find a place to stay, and he stayed in the royal park. When the king saw this, he was impressed and brought the ascetic inside. And for the past twelve years the king fed the ascetic. But in those past twelve years the ascetic wanted to tell the king something, but could never do it. But finally the king asked what is going on, and why he won’t ask him the question. The ascetic asked for a pair of sandals and an umbrella. The king was confused on why he wouldn’t ask for an umbrella and a pair of sandals for the past 12 years. The ascetic said that he was afraid that if the king declined his request, their friendship would be strained, so the ascetic stayed silent for the 12 years. The king gave the ascetic the pair of sandals and umbrella to the ascetic and went on his way. After he died, he was born in the Brahma heavens.Kids’ drawing
