316 Sasa Jātaka (JTA 121) The Rabbit in the Moon Ashin Sarana:
Andre Thu’s drawing Once there was a man who gave the buddha food and seats to sit on for a week and the buddha told that once someone gave their own flesh to another, and as per his request he told the story. Once there was a monkey, jackal, rabbit, and an otter, and on the full moon day, all but the rabbit obtained food. Sakkha noticed these creatures and tested all the animals. The otter, jackal and monkey gave the food they obtained, but the rabbit had nothing so he told the Brahmin (which is what Sakkha transformed into to disguise himself) to make a fire to cook himself and instead of him burning he survived and passed the test and since he had such bravery his face went on the full moon for an eon.Kids’ drawing
