177 Tinduka Jātaka (JTA 1.72) The Tinduka Tree Ashin Sarana:
Thinzar M’s drawing Once a devotee exclaimed that the Buddha was very wise and the Buddha told him it was not the first time he was wise and told a story of the past. Once the Buddha was born as a monkey who became leader to eighty thousand monkys. The monkeys liked to go to a tinduka tree to eat its fruits when the village was empty the monkeys knowing the tree had fruits went to see if the village was empty but the village was full of people so the monkeys begged the leader to at midnight so he agreed to go. When they were sure the villagers were asleep they went to the tree but one villager saw the monkeys and alarmed the other villagers so the villagers surrounded the tree with weapons and were going to get them once daylight. The monkeys asked the leader what to do so he told them to check if everyone was here but one monkey was not there so they waited for him hoping he would find a way to help so when the monkey saw the troop was not there he saw what was happening and set the other houses on fire making the villagers distracted letting the monkeys escape.Kids’ drawing
