Steadfastness

A bhikku was dedicated to his duties, serving his teachers and following the rules for bhikkus. He cleaned the monastery, prepared drinking water, and his kindness made other bhikkus joyful. The Buddha told a story about an ascetic who gave water to thirsty animals during a drought and was later repaid with fruits, illustrating the idea that giving back can result in future rewards.
